About This Place

Nestled in the vibrant Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles, Chifa 國偉 stands out as a dynamic culinary gem that masterfully blends Chinese and Peruvian flavors into a remarkable dining experience. Celebrated as a go-to spot for those craving inventive fusion cuisine, this restaurant seamlessly brings together the bold spices and comforting textures of two distinct culinary traditions, inviting guests on an unforgettable journey of taste and culture.

The menu at Chifa 國偉 is a carefully curated adventure bursting with iconic dishes that are both nostalgic and refreshingly new. One of the most talked-about delights is the Lomo Saltado, a Peruvian stir-fry that sings with tender strips of beef, fresh veggies, and fragrant herbs, delivering a harmonious marriage of savoriness and a hint of citrus tang. Equally enticing are the Braised Spare Ribs—rich, fall-off-the-bone tender with layers of umami that melt in your mouth, crafting pure comfort in every bite.

Seafood aficionados will appreciate the delicate Scallop Crudo, a fresh, silky sensation that balances bright acidity with subtle sweetness. The dim sum-inspired Siu Mai, plump and juicy with succulent pork and shrimp, offers a familiar yet elevated bite, while the Mala Har Gow brings a spark of Szechuan heat, awakening your palate with its vibrant chili kick. Vegetarian diners aren’t left behind—flavorsome dishes like the Dan Dan Mien V and Mapo Tofu are layered with rich, aromatic sauces that satisfy deeply without overwhelming.

DON’T miss the unexpected delights like the Chinese Fries, double-fried to golden perfection and seasoned with just the right balance of salt, white pepper, and scallions. Upgrade to “Bomb Style” with their signature housemade aji sauce for an addictive twist. For those with a sweet tooth, the Black Sesame Cheesecake Tart offers a luxuriously creamy finish with a nutty, toasted edge, while delicate Alfajores and Chicha Morada, a traditional Peruvian purple corn drink brewed with pineapple, add layers of cultural authenticity and surprise.

The ambiance at Chifa 國偉 is equally captivating. Vibrantly decorated in bold colors that echo the fusion of its two culinary heritages, the space invites you to relax and savor not just the food, but the atmosphere itself. The team exudes warmth and hospitality, treating guests like family and making every visit feel personal and special. Whether you’re dining inside surrounded by eye-catching art or enjoying the spacious, kid- and dog-friendly outdoor area, the environment feels lively yet comfortable—perfect for casual meals or memorable gatherings.

Customers repeatedly rave about the authentic yet inventive menu, with Jenna Park calling it “very creative and trendy,” praising the unique dishes like Lomo Saltado as the city’s best. Connie Cheung fondly compares the experience to an authentic trip to Lima, emphasizing the pivotal role of “Chifa” as Peruvian-Chinese culinary tradition, and highlights charming drinks like the Chacha Chicha cocktail. D. de Silva appreciates the family vibe and creative use of outdoor spaces for events, envisioning the restaurant as a future hub for community and work-life balance with upcoming breakfast and coffee offerings.

From the first bite to the last sip, Chifa 國偉 delivers a beautiful blend of cultures and flavors with unmistakable passion and creativity. Whether you’re a devoted fan of Chinese cuisine, a Peruvian food enthusiast, or simply someone looking to discover something deliciously different, this unique fusion restaurant promises a feast that excites every sense and invites you back for more.

Very creative and trendy place. The items on the menu as well. Super delicious and unique. Lomo saltado here is the best in town! We loved all the food and drink. There are enough Chinese influenced fusion small dishes. See more Peruvian bites too!

This place reminds me a trip i went to Lima. If i remember correctly, local people called chifa as Persian Chinese food, and it plays an important role at Peru. This place has come out as expected and more. Love the food, especially the short ribs and scallop crudo. Love the Chacha chicha (mixed with Peruvian drink with rum). Love the pavlova. This place is boldly decorated with colors that could take your breath away. It's passionate, fun, delicate.

Love this spot. The food is beautiful and very tasty. The team is lovely and treats you like family! Beautiful, kid and dog friendly outdoor dining. Inside is fun and beautiful too. They have a large lot, and leverage the back for fun events and hosting. They will be opening up for breakfast/coffee/lunch; hoping to add the 3rd place vibe for folks to come work and spend their days there. They have a bar, music set up, and nice tent. They host baseball game viewing, parties, and anything else you can think off. This is all a bonus…the food is delicious. And the people are warm. We made a reservation, but it seems you can show up and get a table without one on most nights. The menu is interesting and unique. Tasty dishes served family style. Cool blending of genres. We got the Dan Dan Noodle (delicious with some peanut sauce), Fries Chinese Bomb Style (lovely fries with chilis and green, Brûlée Char Su (delicious bbq pork toro - Smokey and sweet taste), Black Pepper Prawns (head-on prawns with delicious rich taste), and steamed rice. The team also noticed our young kid, and brought them some pineapple as a treat. They also brought out a metal water bowl for our pup. We were welcomed to explore the space, and met the team. They shared more and more of their amazing Chifa. They will do a Jamaican menu swap next Sunday…blending their Michelin winning chef, and a long term guest’s Jamaican mother’s family recipes. So cool! Parking on the street was available! Kind of a strange intersection adjacent to the restaurant. Look for the green wall; the restaurant is there next to the right hand turn lane before the intersection as you travel east.

Delicious spot. My favorite dish was the beef heart anticucho but everything was delicious. Definitely the scallop crudo. Sea bream was good. Siu Mai. The fried rice has huge pieces of shrimp and fish roe. Dan Dan noodles were well sauced. The okra. WOW. Everything was delicious. Drinks also on point!

Place I’ve been wanting to check out and finally was able to. Sprung on. My lady today to give her afternoon break since she putting in work at home- remote work. So I let her know and off we went she a fan of Chinese food and has no clue on Peruvian food. Her favorites was the tri rice, the char siu, siu mai, and the prawns. Same for me plus the wellness soup and the heart.

Chifa is one of those rare family-owned restaurants that immediately feels like you’ve been invited into someone’s home for dinner—in the best, most intimate way. The bold Cantonese, Taiwanese, and Peruvian flavors work together so beautifully, and the eclectic decor makes the whole experience feel special and full of character. We tried the lomo saltado, wok hei vegetables, dan dan noodles, and the taradito (sashimi)—every dish was packed with flavor and so thoughtfully prepared. Their cocktail menu is just as impressive, with drinks that pair perfectly with the food. It’s the kind of place that’s perfect for date night, but also has a gorgeous private space in the back for hosting events or bringing a bigger group. Service was truly top notch—warm, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. I’m already planning my next visit with more friends so we can try everything on the menu. A beautiful, soulful dining experience from start to finish.
